Nobody came to see your booth.

Mall roadshows, festive campaigns and community activations — built for an audience that did not plan to attend and can leave at any second.

The opposite of a gala

A gala audience arrived on purpose, dressed for it, and will stay until the end. An activation audience was going somewhere else. They have shopping bags, a parking ticket running down, and children who are already bored. Nobody in that crowd made a decision to attend.

That single difference governs every production choice. A stage that reads across forty metres of concourse. A host who can restart the loop every twenty minutes because the audience has completely turned over. A mechanic that pays out in under ninety seconds, because two minutes is longer than a passer-by will give you.

Footfall is not the metric

Mall management will report footfall, and it will look impressive. It is also the number that would have happened anyway. The figures worth designing for are the ones that only exist because you were there: leads captured, samples redeemed, app installs, bookings taken, sign-ups completed.

We build the mechanic around that number, and we instrument it — so the post-campaign report says what the activation produced, not how many people walked past it.

Festive and community campaigns

Raya, Chinese New Year, Deepavali and Christmas activations carry a second requirement: they have to read as genuine to the community they are addressing, not as a brand borrowing a holiday. That shapes the set design, the programming, the food, and who hosts.

Community events for townships and developments are similar. The audience are residents and neighbours, some of whom will become buyers, most of whom will not. Programming for families rather than for prospects is what makes the day work — and the goodwill is the point.

Mall and retail roadshows

Retail roadshows run on a set of constraints that are invisible until you have hit them: load-in windows measured in hours, height and rigging limits, tenant-mix restrictions on what you may sample, power draw caps, and a centre management team who will stop the show if you exceed any of them.

We handle the mall submission, the technical drawings, load-in scheduling and the on-site compliance so the campaign is not renegotiated on the concourse at 6am.

What that involves

  • Concept and mechanic design — the interaction, the payout, the dwell time
  • Set and booth fabrication — built for repeated load-in and travel
  • Mall submissions and compliance — drawings, permits, load-in scheduling
  • Crew and brand ambassadors — briefed, scripted and rostered
  • Data capture — leads, redemptions and sign-ups, instrumented and reported
  • Multi-venue tours — one build, repeated across centres and states
  • Photography and content capture for social and post-campaign reporting

Common questions

Can you run a roadshow across several malls?

Yes. We design the build for repeated load-in and travel, then handle submissions, scheduling and crew for each venue. One fabrication, toured.

Do you handle mall submissions and permits?

Yes — technical drawings, centre management submissions, load-in scheduling and on-site compliance.

Can you supply brand ambassadors?

Yes, briefed and scripted to the mechanic, with a roster that covers the full run rather than the launch day only.

How do you report results?

Against whatever the campaign is actually judged on — leads, redemptions, sign-ups or bookings. Footfall is reported for context, not as the outcome.

What about launches and ceremonies?

Property and product launches are on the launches page; groundbreakings and topping-out on the ceremonies page; corporate openings and press events on the corporate page.

What should this activation actually produce?

Tell us the number and the venues. We will design the mechanic around it.
