Project · Topping-OffTopping off Edelweiss at Tropicana Gardens.

The milestone
Edelweiss is the seventh phase of Tropicana Gardens, Tropicana Corporation Berhad's transit-oriented development in Tropicana Indah, Petaling Jaya, linked by pedestrian bridge to Tropicana Gardens Mall and a short walk from the MRT. The phase comprises serviced residences, SOFO units and a two-floor retail component known as the Shoppes, with a gross development value of RM932 million.
A topping-off marks the point at which a building reaches its final structural height. For a developer it is the moment the project stops being a rendering and becomes a structure people can see from the road — which is why it is worth marking publicly rather than letting it pass on a site report.
Wonder Space produced the ceremony that marked it.
Why the timing mattered
The ceremony landed at an unusually strong moment. Edelweiss had reached full take-up on its residential component, and the retail Shoppes had just launched at 60%. Structural completion was on schedule against a Q4 2025 handover. The development was also on track for a GreenRE Silver rating and slated for QLASSIC quality assessment.
That combination — sold out, on time, certified — is the story a developer wants in the room and in the press on the day. The production job is to make sure the ceremony carries it: that the reveal fires on the first attempt, the speeches sit in the right order, and the photographs that run in the property press are the ones the client would have chosen.
Khoo Thian Shyang, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Tropicana Corporation Berhad, marked the occasion, noting the company's commitment to delivering quality developments on schedule.
What ceremony production involves
A topping-off is produced on a live construction site, to a fixed hour, with senior corporate attendance and no ballroom to control. The work spans concept and creative direction, stage and backdrop build, the ceremonial mechanism itself, protocol and run-of-show, AV and outdoor-rated sound, photography and videography briefed on the frames that matter, and an on-day crew working alongside the main contractor's safety officer.
The full approach is set out on the ceremonies page.
